PRACTICAL MEASURES AND CONSIDERATIONS FOR GUESTS:
  • Consider a pro-active note to guests for reassurance and practical recommendations for cleanliness
  • If your property has a self-quarantined guest:
    • Do not allow employees in the room:
      • Leave linens/towels outside room.
      • For room service, attempt to use disposable/recyclable containers.
      • Treat dirty/soiled linens/towels and trash carefully.
  • Enhance public space cleaning (elevator buttons/door handles, etc.)
  • Hand sanitizers available in public areas.
  • If your property is exposed to the Coronavirus from a guest, consider a third-party service for the room cleaning or a specific deep clean for the room.
PRACTICAL MEASURES AND CONSIDERATIONS FOR EMPLOYEES:
  • Encourage more hand sanitizer usage.
  • Be liberal with sick/time off policies:
    • Where possible, consider allowing employees to work remotely.
    • Consider allowing negative sick/time off balances.
  • Thoughtfully consider employee-related travel.
    • As best as possible, be aware of employee personal travel internationally.
  • Keep in mind that some areas may be closing schools, which will impact employees.
  • Be vigilant of guest profiling.
PRACTICAL MEASURES AND CONSIDERATIONS BUSINESS-WISE:
  • Attempt to be liberal with cancellation policies:
    • Consider utilizing a credit for future travel.
  • Review cancellation policies for group bookings.
  • Please note third-party booking services have or may invoke relaxed cancellation policies.
  • Governor Newson has declared a state of emergency and anti-price gouging regulations are in effect which limits price increases to 10% with seasonal/contracted pricing changes allowed.
  • Prepare for fluctuations in staffing levels.
